National Curriculum areas are monitored by individual class teachers continually throughout the year using appropriate assessment procedures. All children are assessed to inform reporting to parents at Parents’ Evening. In the latter part of the school year, Year 2 and Year 6 children take the National Standard Assessment Tests (SATs). The progress of pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 is monitored throughout the year by ongoing teacher assessments against National Curriculum Stage criteria. Reception class pupils are assessed against the Early Learning Goals.

Parents are invited to come into school to discuss their child's progress, using an appointment system, during the Autumn and Spring Terms. A written reporton pupil progress is issued during the Summer Term. If parents wish to discuss the report further they may make an appointment with the class teacher. Parents may come and see the class teacher and the headteacher at any time, by prior appointment, if possible.
